#Launchbar google calendar how toJust because you don't know how to use it well enough to provide more than "minimal productivity gains" does not mean that everyone is stuck in that rut. Just because there are alternatives to what I do doesn't mean I need several applications to do the task that this single one does. I work much more efficiently within the system that I'm familiar with. #Launchbar google calendar portableI use a portable machine, I don't have my hand on a mouse all the time. I use QS for those things because, yes I come from a background of terminal usage/expansive boarding - and yes, I enjoy using my keyboard without having to move back and forth between the keyboard and the mouse/touchpad. The OP asked for info FOR the use of QS, not for arguments against it. Seems like a total waste of time actually. You can either drill down in the Interface or selection files in the finder then CMD Space, type F I N D (current finder selection) TAB, type C O P (copy to), then navigate to the destination. I use it to control itunes and display itunes artwork for current song playing. But how often do you write these twitter-like messages? And does it make it worth it to run an app in the background all the time for it? I'm guessing no. Sure, that's about the only useful thing it has left. I occasionally use it to send emails without having to open mail.app. Whatever it is that you type into quicksilver now you can type into spotlight instead. You could also setup a fancy shortcut with a symlink. They both have icons in the menubar, it is exactly one click to turn them off. Pfft, you just like the keyboard that's all. Thing is, the terminal opens instantly already anyway. It's like a terminal that runs in the background. I use it to run terminal commands without ever opening terminal. Leopard, spotlight, meh what's the point for this anymore. I use it to run scripts (which is pretty much like running an application). So it edits the iCal/iApp database file without opening the app, big wow. I use it to add events and todos to ical. There's a bunch more but those are the ones I use most frequently. I also use it whenever I need to resize a large group of images. You can, but I don't really anymore, use the Shelf plugin which is an advanced paste bin utility. #Launchbar google calendar freeI used to use it to send images to my flickr account but with the new free iphoto plugin its not really necessary unless I just don't want to add the image to my iphoto library. I use it to send events to my google calendar as well (since gcaldaemon isn't fully functioning in leopard quite yet). Of course I use it to launch applications as well - I rarely need to dip in to the finder for much of anything as if you add to the catalog yourself it pretty much acts like spotlight. I use it to append other text files now but use anxiety for my todos. I would use quicksilver to add text to this file in one action. I guess the best way to describe it is to explain what I do with it.
